To ring in Valentine’s Day 2020 we wanted to create something a little different this year. Inspired by French painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s iconic masterpiece ‘The Swing’ we sought to bring a painting to ‘life’ as an immersive scene framing the entrance to The Ivy Chelsea Garden. The huge gold ornate frame had to be built in our studio in order to test logistics, then dismantled and rebuilt on-site in Chelsea. Our team worked through the early hours (!) building our life-size tree, statues, swing and watercolour sky backdrop before filling the entire scene with overflowing, custom dyed roses and hydrangea.
Before our installation was presented to the public we had the pleasure of capturing these images that truly recreate the romance of the painting in a modern fashion way with beautiful model Grace. Since then, we have loved seeing how influencers, fashionistas and London’s romantics capture themselves in the painting. Happy Valentines/ Galentines/ Palentines.
